ABOUT ZIMMER CRYO CHILLER

Say goodbye to laser treatment discomfort, minimize pain, and protect against thermal injury with this new and improved skin cooling device! The Zimmer Cryo delivers cold air as low as -30°C. The device is intended to minimize pain and thermal injury by providing topical anesthetic relief during laser treatments. The system can assist in a variety of applications and is particularly useful with laser procedures. Unlike other cooling methods, such as contact cooling, cryogen spray, or ice packs, Zimmer Cryo can cool the epidermis before, during, and after the laser energy has been applied, without interfering with the laser beam.

HOW DOES IT WORK?! The laser tattoo removal procedure, with ZIMMER Cryo, begins with the cooling of the designated treatment area for approximately 20 to 60 seconds. Once cooled, the laser tattoo removal procedure begins using the Enlighten Laser by Cutera.  Throughout the tattoo removal process, cold air is directed from the Zimmer Chiller, alongside the laser. The Zimmer skin cooling device helps to minimize pain and protect against thermal injury from laser procedures.

Q: What is Enlighten?

The Cutera Enlighten Laser is the most advanced laser system for the effective and safe removal of tattoos and benign pigmented lesions.

Q: How does Enlighten Laser Tattoo Removal differ?

Enlighten features extremely short and high-power picosecond laser pulses which efficiently and quickly break down the ink particles in tattoos. A ‘picosecond’ is one trillionth of a second and is 1,000 times shorter than the ‘nanosecond’ pulses used in existing lasers for tattoo removal. Picosecond laser pulses have been shown to remove tattoos more completely and in fewer treatment sessions than traditional laser used historically in the past.

Q: How many sessions are required?

The total number of treatments varies depending on the composition, age of the tattoo, depth, and the color of the ink, as well as the size of the tattoo. You should be prepared for multiple treatment sessions, and your provider can give you a better idea of the total number of treatments needed during your complimentary consultation and once your treatments begin.

Q: Does it matter where I go?

YES! Chances are, your tattoo artist told you that the difference between a great tattoo and a poor tattoo is the artist. The same goes for tattoo removal. The effectiveness of the removal all depends on the experience and the skill of the provider and the techniques they use.

Tattoo ink is deposited deep in the skin. In order to reach all of the ink in the skin, multiple treatment sessions are needed for clearance. Depth, age, size, and color of the tattoo also impact the number of treatments needed.
